 Geat quote from Elvis Costello

From an article in the AJC about a new book that covers the making of the Rolling Stones album "Exile on Main Street"

"Writing about music is like dancing about architecture."

 Russian poisoning

This article was published in "The Exile", an English language newspaper published by a friend of mine in Moscow.  Some interesting insights from someone who has been tracking Putin for a long time.

ACTON, MA -- This is big. No, scratch that -- it's huge. Not since the heyday of the Cold War have we seen such a hot story of espionage, intrigue, and a bizarre murder through poisoning, with a slow, painful death. It had everything: a defector, a former spy with secrets, blaming the government of the country he escaped from for the most heinous crimes...add to that a bunch of shady rich men, and an extremely rare element - a hugely toxic, radioactive and elusive substance called polonium-210. It's like a huge dirty bomb exploding in the middle of a big city. It's a sensation like no other, and the scandal keeps growing without any signs of abating.

Even the Cold War didn't have this much excitement. One needs to go back at least to the days of the courts of Medici and Borgia. Who needs puerile "Da Vinci Code" conspiracies when you can have this?

 Pelosi-Harman friction strains Democrats' unity

From LA Times via Instapundit

Pelosi-Harman friction strains Democrats' unity

After Harman lost her gubernatorial bid, Pelosi urged her to run for Congress again. Harman's choice was made easier by the fact that then-Minority Leader Dick Gephardt (D-Mo.) had promised her in writing that she could reclaim her seniority on the Intelligence Committee. That bumped a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, Rep. Sanford D. Bishop Jr. (D-Ga.), off the committee and jumped her over another African American, Rep. Alcee L. Hastings (D-Fla.), in seniority.

I've been wondering what was really at the heart of the Harman - Pelosi feud.  This article sheds a little light, but not much.  But the bold above is THE under-covered aspect of this whole story.  Why hasn't the MSM been shouting this form the rooftops?   C'mon...you know why........if Newt or Hastert had done this, you certainly would have heard about it....
